26 years of field experience. One very interesting first impression.

Burke pulled the new Leica CS50 survey field controller out of the box, expecting the same form factor as the CS20, same batteries, same accessories. What he didn't expect was how much faster, brighter, and more connected everything feels.

Watch his reaction.

Some reality capture challenges are easier to understand once you can play through them. 🎮

That idea inspired our colleague Alexander Solopov, Sales & Technical Support Specialist at Leica Geosystems, to create an interactive game based on real scanning workflows.

The game takes familiar challenges from laser scanning and digital surveying and turns them into a more engaging way to explore how the work actually happens.

The project has now been featured in Lidar Group News.

A proud moment for the team behind the 🏆

The Leica RTC series has been announced as Product Design of the Year winner by the 2026 MUSE Design Awards, an international design competition that has been recognising work from around the world since 2015. The award recognises the 'one trusted design' behind our new RTC300, RTC500 and RTC700 laser scanners.

A lot of hard work and a lot of people contributed to making this the most powerful laser scanner series on the market today. Congratulations to everyone behind it! 👏🏼

From screen to ground. 🚜

How does a digital design become finished work on site?

It starts in the office, but it should not stay there.

The design can be prepared in Leica iCON office and shared through Leica ConX with connected machines in the field. Once it reaches the cab, the operator has the design information available where the work is actually happening and can use it to work towards the target. And the flow of information does not have to stop there. As-built data can help teams see what has been completed and compare the finished work against the design. From design to cloud. From cloud to cab. From cab to finished ground.

It is all part of a connected workflow that brings digital project information closer to the physical work.
