The Deh Cho Bridge is the largest bridge in the Northwest Territories, spanning the Mackenzie river at 1.1 kms long near the community of Fort Providence. It was completed in 2012 and allowed the ability to cross the Mackenzie River year round versus having to rely on a winter road once there was enough ice or when a ferry could run. It opened in November 2012.

Hay River Mackenzie Place High Rise

Built in Hay River in 1975 and debatably the tallest building in the NWT at 17 stories. (The Center square mall in Yellowknife has the same number of stories and is 200 feet tall but no source I can find quotes the height of Mackenzie Place). Mackenzie Place has been empty since 2019 due to a fire in the building, this is what it looks like today.

Spent some time this week in Hay River NT. Took some photos of the Marine Transportation Services site (MTS).
MTS is a part of the Dept of Infrastructure with the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT).
This site is where they ensure all the ships are in tip top shape to supply the communities along the Mackenzie River & Arctic Ocean. All dependent on water levels of course.
