Meet The Team | Andy Smith
Andy joins Advantage as our newest team member, stepping into the role of Business Manager and bringing nearly four decades of experience in civil construction, operations, and business leadership.
His career began as a general labourer in 1986 and progressed through increasingly senior leadership roles, including Operations Manager, Operations Director overseeing civil contracting throughout Atlantic Canada, Vice President, and General Manager.
Throughout his career, Andy has developed extensive experience in safety, quality, productivity, financial performance, and business growth. In one of his most recent leadership roles, he spent seven years managing a civil contracting company, helping more than double its revenue while improving profit, safety, and quality year over year.
After initially planning to retire in early 2026, Andy quickly realized he wasn't quite ready. When the opportunity with Advantage came along, the company's direction and potential caught his attention.
As Business Manager, Andy will help oversee the broader business with a focus on finance, safety, and quality while bringing decades of experience and knowledge to our growing team.
In Andy's words, Advantage has more potential than any company he's previously worked for, and we're excited to have his experience behind us as we continue to grow.
