PROJECT REVEAL!🦀

With less than one month until the North American release date for Cross-Stitch by the Sea, here is one more first look at one of the book’s projects.

‘A Shell on the Shore’ was the first pattern I designed when workshopping the theme for this second book of patterns. This little hermit crab strolling along windy sand dunes ended up being the inspiration behind the rest of the collection!

PROJECT REVEAL🌊

Here’s a first look at ‘Misty Headlands’, one of the projects that you will be able to stitch if you get your hands of my upcoming book, Cross-Stitch by the Sea.

Since I revealed a few animal projects in the past weeks, I thought it was time to show you one of the landscape projects found in the book. Because, yes, of course, there will be landscapes too!

‘Misty Headlands’ was inspired by the time I spent on Vancouver Island a couple years ago. I was deeply moved by the beauty of these moody bays and shores and wished to replicate this vibe in this landscape piece. I forced myself to use a very restricted palette and really like the result, I hope you do too!

Project Reveal🐢

Many of you asked whether there would be a sea turtle in my book and, well, the answer is yes!

Here’s a peek at ‘A Turtle’s Journey, one of the 25 projects from my upcoming book, Cross-Stitch by the Sea.

I haven’t created many turtles in my years as a designer. I’m not sure why, because designing this one was so much fun! I wanted the focus of this pattern to be on the turtle itself, so I placed it in a subtle scene, with rays, fish and bubbles in the background. Hope you like it!

Project Reveal🐙

Marcellus, is that you?! iykyk!

Here’s another peek at ‘Gentle Giant’, one of my favourite projects from my next book, Cross-Stitch by the Sea. This design celebrates the enigmatic giant Pacific octopus, a fascinating creature that is said to be the smartest of all ocean animals. Fun fact: did you know they have three hearts? While one heart pumps its blood to the body, the other two pump blood to the gills where it picks up oxygen.

Any fox fans in here?!

If you have a copy of my first book, Cross-Stitch in the Forest, you’ll already be familiar with this design called ‘Fox & Butterflies’. It’s a pattern I had a lot of fun designing and I feel is the perfect project to stitch to celebrate the upcoming arrival of spring!
