Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about how I want to show up here. I’ve struggled with the direction this platform has taken and my relationship with it, but I also find so much joy in connection so I keep coming back.

Since the beginning, this account has been about my journey as a landscape designer — sharing gardens, projects, ideas, and the things I’ve been creating as a student and professionally. But life shifts, circumstances change, and I’m in a season of shifting with it.

Right now, I’m taking some space from client work and giving myself room to explore what’s next. I’m designing my own home and garden, getting stronger physically and mentally, following the things that spark my curiosity, and making more space for creativity in all its forms. And most importantly, spending time with my family.

I want this space to reflect more of that. So you’ll probably see me showing up a little differently here — still with plenty of gardens and plants, because that part of me isn’t going anywhere, but also with more of the things I’m noticing, trying, learning, creating, and enjoying along the way.

I don’t have a perfectly mapped-out destination, and I actually think that’s part of what feels exciting about this chapter. I am flexing my surrender muscles, practicing letting go.

I’d love for this page to feel like a place to share the complete journey. And if you’re in a season of change or curiosity yourself, maybe we can figure some of it out together. 💚

One of my favourite things to do is sit down on the ground and gaze into the garden. I like to enjoy an iced coffee midday like this, just on the ground, taking in all that nature has to offer on these gorgeous summer days. And yes I do have patio furniture but I just love this so much, and I’m a sitting cross-legged girl. It’s at this level, with my face practically in the plants, that I really see what’s happening in there. The little bugs crawling around, the spider hidden in her web, all the jobs that need doing, the decay and the new growth, the wild strawberry that is making a berry here and there. So much life in a square meter. Do you have a favourite spot where you can really immerse yourself into the plants and take it all in - the birds, the bugs, the fragrance? Where you can find a deep sense of peace and gratitude?

A romantic little plant combo I’ve been really enjoying this summer: Mexican daisy ‘Profusion,’ Salvia nemerosa ‘Caradonna’ and white lacecap Hydrangeas in the background. This combination flowers for a long season, attracts pollinators, and looks relaxed without becoming messy, just my style 🌸

💗Would you plant this in your own garden?

The thyme path is absolutely chock full of bumble bees when the sun comes out. I tried to capture it with video but it just wasn’t the same. Walking down the path the bees were just floating up and all around, it was magical. Also, more exciting news, I haven’t seen the agapanthus in a number of years and I am so excited to see them bloom. Another couple of warm days and they’ll arrive. I will be out there grabbing shots! 📷

One of my favourite parts of designing a garden is trying new plants. This dainty pop of red is a carnation from Stellata Plants where you can find rare and drought tolerant plants. She loves sun and dry conditions and from a design point of view, adds that deep pop of red that can elevate a planting.
