Big or small, every project gets the same level of care from our team.

This one’s on the bigger end of the spectrum — a full character home renovation in West Point Grey, paired with a 600 sq ft rear addition, a brand new upper-floor suite, and a laneway house all happening at once.

Lots of moving parts, lots of coordination between trades — exactly the kind of project our crew thrives on. The goal here: keep the home’s 1920s character intact from the street, while revealing a completely different, contemporary space once you’re inside.

Meet Spencer, one of our site supervisors.

Spencer joined Kerr Design Build as a Lead Finishing Carpenter, bringing sharp attention to detail to every project he touched. Over the past few years, he’s grown into a site supervisor role, known for his strong quality control and hands-on approach to keeping every job site running to our standards.

Most recently, Spencer was the site supervisor on this beautiful Point Grey home — overseeing construction from start to finish to make sure every detail was done right.

Have a full view of the project — a home addition and renovation in North Vancouver.

North Vancouver is full of incredible 1920s character homes, and this one was full of potential. We opened up the kitchen, added a new primary suite and balcony upstairs, and kept details like the original Douglas fir doors — so it feels like it’s simply evolved over time, not been renovated.

Progress update from our Port Moody project

The roof staining is done — two coats of water-based acrylic stain bringing the hemlock soffit and Douglas fir beams into one matching tone, while keeping all the natural wood grain and warmth.

Next up: a porcelain paver deck system that lets water drain straight through while the surface stays flat, level, and ready for furniture — the real waterproofing membrane and slope are all underneath.

We just received a wonderful review from a family whose West Vancouver home we recently completed — and we couldn’t be prouder of this one.

The project included a full renovation of their 4,000+ sq ft home, a second-storey addition of roughly 900 sq ft with extra bedrooms and a family room, plus landscaping and a full driveway and retaining wall build.

What meant the most to us was hearing how the whole team came together for this family — from Elton in those first planning conversations, through beautiful design work from Nisha and Jaycie, to Vincent and Evan leading the site and project management with real transparency and care. It’s exactly the kind of collaboration we strive for on every project, and we’re so grateful this family trusted us with something this big.
