Declining Maple Removal

🍁 Did you know maple trees in our area generally live 50-200 years, but are heavily affected by diseases, ground conditions and drought, which shorten their life span.

🍁 Kretzchmaria deusta is a disease commonly affecting maples and other broad leaf species. On severely infected plants, the fungus penetrates the trunk and roots causing them to decay. Making the tree more prone to failure. There is no treatment for this. Removal of infected trees is best to prevent failures of large branches or even whole tree failures. In some cases where structures are not to close, a heavy pruning might be an option for those that want to keep the tree longer.

Having your trees properly inspected by a qualified professional can help reduce the risks associated with these issues.
