Biodiversity is what makes planet Earth what it is, essentially a paradise. Bio-diversity and complexity gives life its energy and zing this is part of what gives nature on Earth its beauty, its awe and its life-giving properties. The Moon for example or other planet other than Earth, do not have the level of biodiversity that Earth (and we all) enjoy.
We have all sorts of means to foster and enjoy this life, this diversity. We can take our custodianship in our hands to ensure we and future generations continue to enjoy this.
Presence and mindfulness in our personal lives, presence in our community and local areas and presence in our broader regions. We can all take responsibility and create biodiversity where we can πΏπΎπ
One example is a biodiverse local area whether it is a garden or street or neighbourhood environment. In this, insects, birds, mamals, reptiles and humans are supported. These may be areas for growing herbs, fruits, flowers, vegetables, seasonal produce for all, shade trees in the heat, habitat for wildlife, oxygen for all life. Using local native pollinator plants and trees are a good start.
Other examples could be to buy produce at and support our local farmers markets, reducing our waste generation and plastic consumption, knowing where our food comes from or even what's in it, refusing to buy product/s or from companies that harm the planet or wildlife such as palm-oil, helping a friend plant a garden, joining a local community garden, volunteer with a regeneration group to restore ecology, grow your own food, create a wildlife friendly garden, create or join a local group of like-minded people to take action on a project in the area. The list is endless.
Enjoy the richness of biodiversity in your area.
