Drilling Door Handle Holes and Plates 🌳| Day in the Life of a Finish Carpenter

Getting the doors ready for an easy hardware install after the painters are finished. I drilled all the doors for the handles and latch plates using a Bighorn kit for the centre bores and router jigs for the plates.

After adjusting all the doors, I measured each opening and cut all the door stops in one batch. Then I worked through the project installing them one by one, making sure each piece fit cleanly and consistently.

Extending Narrow Jambs on an Angled Triple Window 🌳| Day in the Life of a Finish Carpenter

Quick look at setting up jamb extensions for a tricky angled triple window setup. Dealing with tight corners and non-standard angles means custom ripping every extension piece on site to get flush reveals. Built out the jambs, scribed to the wall, and wrapped the casing between all three windows, slight adjustment on casing size to allow a custom table built under the casing.

Custom Step-Bevel Trim & Solid Poplar Door Walkthrough 🌳 | Day in the Life of a Finish Carpenter

Quick walkthrough of the finished trim setup. We ran a sharp step bevel profile paired with a backband to give the casing some extra depth, paired up with custom solid poplar and MDF doors. Clean reveals, tight miters, and everything set up right for the painters.
