What a transformation! This dark, dreary Kingsway home kitchen got a serious upgrade with full height, clean lined cabinets, walnut two- two accents, a beautiful reeded island and a warm neutral large format porcelain floor. The walnut accents beautifully tied the kitchen through the main living space with original gum wood trim and doors. The owner of this King St. Condo wanted a clean, professional black kitchen to hone his culinary skills. With limitations on moving plumbing and electrical we had to make the most of the layout to make the space more functional and visually impactful. By expanding the island, increasing the cabinetry height and utilizing a variety of cabinet inserts and heavy use shelving on the newly installed brick feature wall , we maximized function, storage and packed a visual punch! These clients are avid wine collectors so we used some of the box crates of their favourites to create a gallery wall outside the wine cellar. The crate sides were float mounted on a neutral mat and framed in a rustic double frame to compliment the tones of the space! A personal and unique touch for these collectors.

With these ongoing lockdowns, a lot of us are dreaming of faraway places and relaxation. This project from a few years ago brought that feeling to my clients main floor condo. In collaboration with poolscapes, we designed a gorgeous multi tiered travertine lined pool surrounded with Ipe decking and a built in linear fireplace for cooler nights by the lake. The end result created a quiet family retreat in the clients own backyard!
