Most contractors do not lose control of their business in one dramatic cyberattack. It usually happens quietly.
A new request sits unanswered in an inbox. A quote is sent but never followed up. The entire crew uses the same password. A former employee still has access to company accounts. The backup shows a green icon, but nobody knows whether it can actually restore the files.
Individually, these problems look small. Together, they cost jobs, time and control.
That is why Okanagan IT Works offers an IT AND Cyber Health Check specifically for Okanagan contractors and service companies.
During the entry-level check, we spend up to two hours reviewing:
• Business accounts, ownership, passwords and MFA
• Current and former employee access
• Computers, phones, updates and basic protection
• Backups and whether they are ready to restore
• Email security, phishing exposure and recovery settings
• The path from a new lead to a quote, follow-up and won job
We also identify one realistic automation opportunity that your crew could actually use — not another complicated system everyone ignores after Tuesday.
The entry-level Health Check is fixed at CAD 595 plus applicable taxes and covers up to five users and ten devices.
You receive:
• A written report
• 10–15 prioritized recommendations
• Estimated costs for addressing the findings
• One practical automation recommendation
• A clear distinction between urgent risks and improvements that can wait
This is an assessment and action plan. Repairs are not included, and it is not a pe*******on test, compliance audit, emergency response service or 24/7 help desk.
The goal is simple: know what is exposed, understand what it may cost and decide what to fix first — before buying solutions you may not need.
If you book an approved Secure Foundation project within 30 days, CAD 300 from the Health Check is credited toward that project.
The service is designed for construction, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, restoration, cleaning and property-maintenance companies with approximately 3–20 employees. Larger teams are scoped separately before booking.
If your business runs on phones, email, shared accounts and “I think the backup works,” it is worth checking.
