Just a few of the arrangements ordered this week at the farm. It is busy around here but I am hoping to take some time to build our flower stand so we can have a large variety of arrangements ready for you to pick up at Taylor Trading Post soon!

FULL DAHLIA CLUMPS AVAILABLE 🌸

I have about 5 large storage tubs of dahlia clumps that I need to clear out this week. I simply don’t have the garden space to store or plant them all this season.

$5 per clump
Minimum pickup: 5 clumps ($25)

I was selling individual tubers for $10 each earlier this year that you all sold out! These are full clumps that can contain roughly 3–30 tubers each, depending on the plant.

They can be planted as a whole clump or divided into multiple plants.

Some are labelled varieties (Cafe Au Lait, Castle Drive, Petra’s Wedding, Larks Ebbe, etc.), but I also have a number of mystery clumps where the labels came off but are still healthy, just a surprise mix of colours and forms 😊

Pickup only, I can be available tomorrow or next week depending on timing.

This is a great time to plant now that the weather has finally warmed up so come pick up some clumps, and bring them right home to plant and enjoy! 🌿

I will be doing a much better job at dividing early next year and do pre-sales of individuals :)

I will attempt to edit more day in the life’s as there is so much that happens each day at the farm! From weeding to fertilizing to planting to pruning to harvesting and so much more. So I hope you enjoyed this little morning harvest for a custom orders 🥰

It’s feeling so official now! Weekly U Picks and flower stand in Taylor and so many gorgeous weddings happening at the farm 🥹

Truly so grateful for all of you who have supported us and helped make this dream a reality and we can’t wait to see so many new faces this summer!

Whats in bloom in May?

It is looking pretty beautiful on the farm already, but most of our May crop is not for cutting. Our long term goal is to have stunning May bouquets available but we are establishin gthe perrenials a little more before hand. Personal preffrence but I love to walk the farm and enjoy the flowers so we planted perrenial tulips and dafadils experimenting on putting the energy back into the bulbs in hope to have enough to cut some save some in future years.

Some of what is blooming right now
- Tulips, double peony types and classic darwins
- Daphadils, and about 13 different types of daphadils and wow I am falling in love with them!
- flowering fruit trees, apple, cherry, plum, so many stunning blosoms!
- Double plum shrub, I can not wait to have these gorgeous blooming branches in future bouquets
- flamingo willow shrubs, these are new and if all goes well these too will be SO incredible in our spring bouquets

This weekend we will be selling off some of our back bone cut flowers!
Yarrow, Maximillian Sunflower, and Shasta Daisy’s, and a few feverfew plants
Along with Daliah Tubers, a few remaining seedling packs (last photo of Brex helping me cut dead flowers last fall we left on to collect seed from)

The times: are flexible 😂 We will be around, but this will be our Offical times for each, and of course our planting party will also be happening so you can come to plant or to buy 🤍

Let’s talk about Yarrow 🌸
These stunning perennial blooms repel Ticks, flies and mosquitoes and are incredible drought tolerant and flower for a very large part of the summer (most perennials have a short bloom period)
These stunning flowers smell amazing and look so good as filler in bouquets and again did I mention natural bug spray??

We will be digging up to devide our crop, they grow so lush we need to thin them out every few years which means over 150ft of blooms getting divided!

We will have a plant sale where you can come in person to buy a container to bring home, plant them around your deck or fire pit for beauty and natural pest control this summer!

This year is so exciting as we have our flower shop finished and can prep trays (the last two years I’d do this outside in minus 20 and then take trays inside to my bathtub to wash 😳)
It is really crazy seeing all the trays in one pile and how many thousands of seedlings we start each winter and spring

Summer feels so close! We have spent the last week finalizing seed orders with companies, to help find the most gorgeous varieties of blooms and colours that work perfectly for brides' colour pallets.

Something fun about growing for weddings is planning out seed start times, bloom dates and last frost. We have one bride in spring wanting deep burgundy, as well as a bride in fall. So we need to do completely different flowers for each of them to have them for their wedding, but still in the same colour palette!

And yes, we will be growing more than enough that if you have an event, a special person in mind or just want to come out for a you pick we will have lots of blooms ready for you!
