Bricklayer Responsibilities:

Measuring distance from reference points.
Calculating angles and determining the vertical and horizontal alignment of courses.
Laying bricks using mortar as a binder and a trowel to level.
Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement.
Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights.
Using equipment and tools effectively to perform basic construction tasks.

Bricklayer Requirements:

Minimum of 1 years industry experience on a construction site.
Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in bricklaying and the construction of buildings.
Problem-solving ability.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.

D.J. Masonry Ltd. is looking for a Bricklayer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Lay bricks or other masonry units to build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations;
Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing to walls or other surfaces;
Remove excess mortar after the brick is in position;
Operate power or manual tools;
Spreads soft bed of mortar for bricks in rows and spreading mortar between joints;
Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment;
Spread and apply mortar to accurately lay bricks into position;
Prepare cement, test, and lay in bricks;
Estimate the quantity of materials required by measuring surfaces or reviewing a work order;
Cut bricks to fit as required;
Read sketches and blueprints to calculate materials required;
Prepare and lay bricks and similar materials to construct and repair walls, foundations and other structures;
Construct and install prefabricated masonry units;
Build or repair walls in accordance with construction plans;
Measures distance from reference points and marks guidelines on working surface to lay out work.

Requirements:

Candidates preferred to be physically fit, able to lift weight (50lbs), should be willing to work outdoors, indoors, rain or shine;
1-2 years of experience in the trade is required or1-2 years of apprenticeship program in the trade;
Language: Basic English is a requirement.
