Week 2 at Alpine Village in Jasper! Not a bad spot to call work for a few weeks.

Over the last two weeks, we’ve Osborn brushed the interiors of three cabins and applied three coats of stain, hand sanding between each coat. We’ve also started Osborn brushing a fourth cabin and have begun applying the chinking.

We’re definitely keeping busy, but it’s hard to complain when this is the view from the jobsite!

🏡 Check out this beautiful Pioneer Log Homes post and beam home!

This home had been sitting for quite some time and had developed a lot of greying. To bring it back to life, we Osborn brushed the entire interior and exterior. This removed the weathered fibres, brightened the wood, enhanced the natural grain, and left it with a smooth finish ready for stain.

We then applied two coats of Sashco Log Homes Capture in Hazelnut, followed by a matte clear coat to give the home a warm, natural finish. ✨

Inside, we applied one coat of Hazelnut followed by two coats of Sashco’s Symphony. We also surprised the homeowners by painting the bear claws black, which really makes the craftsmanship from Pioneer Log Homes stand out. 🐻

To finish the project, we applied two coats of Sansin Floor to the stair treads for a durable, long-lasting finish.

What a beautiful home! We can’t wait to see it once construction is complete. We’ll be sure to share updated photos when it’s finished! 📸

We were able to get a quick turnaround on this beautiful log home and garage! 🏡✨

We started by media blasting the logs, followed by Osborn brushing to properly prepare the wood. We then applied our Rocky Ridge 5 coat system, starting with a borate treatment, followed by one coat of Sashco Colorfast, two coats of Sashco Capture in Red Cedar, and one coat of Sashco Cascade clear coat. 🪵🛠️

We finished the project by staining the deck, bringing everything together and giving the entire home a fresh new look! 🤩

A bit of a transformation!

You can’t fully appreciate it unless you see it up close. This home originally had an old solid stain that completely hid the natural beauty of the wood.

With the age of the home, it also had old mortar chinking between the logs. We carefully chipped out all of the old cement mortar, then media blasted off the old paint-like stain to bring everything back down to clean, sound wood.

From there, we applied three coats of stain and clear coats to protect and enhance the natural character of the logs.

To finish it off, we used Sashco Log Homes Grizzly Brown Conceal between the logs for a clean, natural look that blends in beautifully and makes the chinking far less noticeable.

A lot of hard work went into this one, and we’re proud of how it turned out!

Still can’t get over this transformation 🤯🔥
From worn out and weathered to looking brand new again. The amount of work that went into this one was unreal, but the end result speaks for itself. 👊🏽

Wow what a transformation! 🔥 Check this out! This home was a grind!

We started the restoration process back in April fixing over 150 ft of rot. We came back a month later once the warmer temperatures arrived to start staining.

This home had a non-drying penetrating oil on it. The first step to removing the stain was media blasting. Unfortunately, after 35 years of re-coats, some of the old stain did not want to come off with the blaster, so we had to finish it with the grinder.

It was a ton of work, but it allowed the Bronze Pine Capture/Cascade combination to really pop and give this home and garage a brand new look. ✨

We also modernized the home with solid black stain on the fascia and garage doors, which really changed the overall look.

This one was a lot of work, but the final result speaks for itself 👊

We can’t wait to see the home with black windows & doors!

Check out this incredible transformation we completed this past week!

Over the years, sun exposure had taken a serious toll on this beautiful log structure. Like many homeowners, they didn’t realize just how much UV damage had built up until we showed up. Now they love there home again, “it feels brand new!”

Check out one of the projects we completed in Fernie a week and a half ago!

This home took us just under 5 days to complete including full Osborn brushing, a borate treatment, and two coats of oil based stain. The wood grain is absolutely popping on this house and really brought the logs back to life.

We’re extremely happy with how this transformation turned out. What do you think of the before and after? 👀🔥
