It took 9 solid days to get this building from the already poured ICF foundation to this point. We unfortunately had to head back to the coast, but we’re excited to how it progresses! @ Squamish, British Columbia

Brad Saugstad approached us awhile back to get onboard this project that he’s been working hard on for almost two years. This local company donated countless hours in planning, fundraising, design, site preparation, and excavation to get this project where it’s at today, and we’ve loved every minute of working with him. The timber product we provided is just a small part of what has planned for this site, and we can’t wait to see what else is in store for it. It’s such a pleasure to have such skilled local talent right here in the Sea to Sky, and we’d recommend for any of your landscaping or excavation needs!

The great reveal! The outdoor classroom structure is complete, and final touches - landscaping, seating options, etc - await. We are thrilled with how it all turned out, and truly appreciated the opportunity to be involved with this community project. Looking forward to seeing children and families enjoy this space in all seasons and all weather. Thanks to all who made it happen!

Our days are too busy for social media lately, but we couldn’t miss the opportunity to highlight this special community project.

When the École Squamish Elementary fundraising committee approached us about designing and building a timber-frame outdoor classroom, we had to say yes! A timber-framing project, in Squamish, for local children and families to enjoy, AND a gorgeous bluebird run of sunshine to build it in... a builder’s dream come true!

A HUGE thank you to local for the discount on the beautiful lumber package, local for the preparation of the site and slab, and the École Squamish Elementary School community for their continued support on this project. We wish we could list all of the individuals involved who made this project happen - the community grants, the fundraisers, the private donors, the parents and volunteers - but there are far too many for this allowable word count... but please know that endless local children and families and classrooms and teachers will enjoy this gorgeous all-season structure for years to come thanks to your generosity!

We will be on site for the next few days wrapping up the final details — please feel free to stop by and check it out!

Building is always fun, but it only becomes amazing when you get to do it with a stellar, stand-up crew. These guys answered our rally call for extra hands with absolute gusto, and brought so much energy to the job site, and and to the after-hours entertainment. •

Thanks to and Cam for flying out from Ontario to help, and , , and Aussie Chris for making the trek from Vancouver. We almost got to lock-up in less than two weeks, and it’s because of these guys. Team work is definitely making the cabin dream work.

Hello! We’ve been meaning to do this introduction for awhile, but projects have been keeping us busy. •

A bit about us: we met through our lovely wives (who went to nursing school together), and became fast friends when we realized we had building, bikes, and an enjoyment of good coffee (more so Adam, less so Luke… let’s be honest) in common. •

Once we realized we had the perfect complementary skill-sets for booming , we set a plan in motion — and when the timing was right, voila: was born. •

Along with a hard work ethic and plenty of skill and time on the tools, Adam brings over 16 years of site supervision, large-scale urban concrete forming, and new residential experience to the team. Starting his own construction company has always been the dream, and he’s proud that Legacy Timber Works is the result. When he’s not hustling for new projects or head-down on a job site, you’ll find Adam skiing, biking, or fishing with his three active sons and wife all over the Sea to Sky he’s thrilled (as a long-ago Ontario transplant) to call home. •

Luke grew up on a remote northern B.C. ranch where he learned to DIY all parts of life. After completing his Masters of Engineering in Building Science, he worked for RDH Building Engineering in Vancouver for four years, achieving his .Eng in the process… but his love for the art of building won out, and here he is now, hammer in hand. Luke brings a meticulous eye to all projects, and will happily take your ideas through the necessary design, permitting, budgeting, and building steps. When he’s not working, you’ll find him riding bikes with his two young children and wife, or ticking things off the endless home renovation list she nags him about on the daily. •

We are thrilled to have our designation for B.C., and have some pokers in the fire around the new energy step code requirements as well. Legacy is just getting started! Give us a call to chat anytime.
