Lawn care package deliveries from above!

Hooks and chains make top-dressing a cinch.

A big thanks to Noel & Brett at Black Tusk Cranes for making the deliveries smooth and safe.

When you arrive to a home, for some back-framing, and notice the framers went ahead and built the second floor, rafters, rooftop, gables, interior framing, etc etc….without installing the Patio Slider Header in on ground level.

As a back framing specialist, there are two approaches to certain scenarios at work.
Brute Force or intentional finesse flowing with physics.
Many formers and framers lack “the gentle touch” of being a finisher.
Let alone a horticulturist…
When there is 3/8 sag due to loading from above and, of course, Gravity and settling, many men may reach for props, Jack’s, a sledgehammer, crow bar or just beat it in there with their hammer, resulting in damage to the wood.

$450 inVESTed in Titanium, an Adjustable Aluminum Ladder, Makita Cordless/Brushless Circular Saw, Cordless Paslode Fastener, all the usual Personal Protective Equipment, Toolbelt & Hand Tools, some white gloves.

In 1997,at Dover Bay Secondary School, in Nanaimo BC, I was caught loitering in the locker bay.

“Go to class” says the hall monitor.

“I don’t have a class. I have a spare.” I respond immediately, as I am creatively drawing on my paper pad.

“There’s no such thing as a spare” says the monitor.

“Here! As I show my paper schedule to them, as an Honour Roll and Principal’s List Grade 12 student.

“Oh!”

The fact of the matter, is that I had taken all shop classes, automotive, construction, and woodworking classes offered. All electives and academics had been excelled in and completed.

The solution we came up with, is as follows.

Since I was adamant about avoiding drama class, as that’s what “they” were steering me in the direction of, I became a peer tutor for the younger grades.

My curriculum was to build whatever I desired.

Two of the “graded” projects included a hand-made cedar-strip canoe and this little pre-fab gig.

Thanks for all the lessons Rick!

It amazes me to think of where I would be, and what I would have built for people, had I not invested 20 years into the Horticulture field.

All that aside, The Ball is rolling.
Build, Maintain, Smile,Build, Dream, Maintain, Smile, Build, Build Build.

Smile.

Go ahead.
Push Play.
