Hi 👋 I'm Curtis Toreson and the face of Toreson’s Painting and Decorating.

Painting is very much a family business for me. My Grandpa Ralph started Toreson’s Painting in Canada in 1948, and my dad, Ron Toreson, carried it on and made the business what it is today. I learned a lot of what I know from him, especially the importance of work ethic and a critical eye for detail.

I've now been painting and decorating full time for 25 years. A couple of my favourite jobs are repainting cabinetry and epoxy floors (ask me for more details if you're curious). The end result of a job whether it's a fresh coat of paint, new exterior finish, or anything else is always how great the transformation really is.

For most of the 78 years our business has been in operation, we've heavily relied on 'word-of-mouth' referrals and repeat customers. I think a big part of that is simple - show up when you say you're going to, return calls, do the job properly and treat a customer's home with respect.

My wife will tell you I'm as meticulous as they come, and so I'm also fully insured for my customer's peace of mind.

After moving from Canada to Scarborough, I'm proud to be carrying on the Toreson's Painting and Decorating name here in Yorkshire.

And if you'll have me, I love to start bright and early in the morning.

Some of you might already know, but Curtis Toreson of Toreson’s Painting and Decorating has moved from Canada to the Yorkshire Coast in England! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

After many years in the business, Ron has hung up his painter’s whites and is now blissfully retired.

Curtis’ wife’s family is from the area, and their family has always loved it here, so they decided to take a leap of faith and set up shop across the pond.

Toreson’s Painting has been around since 1948, handed down through the generations. Curtis and Ron want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the business over the decades in Canada. They’ve worked for some great people over the years, many of whom came back again and again or passed the Toreson’s name along to friends and family. The business wouldn’t have made it this far without that support.

It’s a big change for Curtis and his family, but he’s looking forward to carrying on the Toreson’s Painting name here in Yorkshire.

Toreson’s Painting and Decorating is now based in Scarborough and taking on painting and decorating work along the Yorkshire Coast and surrounding areas.

And to everyone back home in Canada, thank you for all the support over the years. 🇨🇦
