Do I really need to seal my type of concrete? Exposed Aggregate Concrete is designed to be sealed, usually with a high gloss sealant to create that "Wet Look" . One of the reasons it must be sealed is because of the open pore design of the surface that if left unsealed, allows water and contaminants to easily enter the concrete and cause damage from freeze/thaw cycles as well as staining. Wrapped up this last driveway at 10PM.

We always wash the day before and seal the next day, weather permitting. Today, I started at 3:30AM because when it gets too hot, the sealer won’t lay down properly. We stop mid-day to protect the quality of the job and return in the evening for finishes like stamped concrete.

It makes for a long day, but doing it right matters more than doing it fast.
