A while back, we talked about some of the common causes of warped siding. One that surprises a lot of homeowners is how much damage a BBQ can do when it's placed too close to the house.🔥🏡

These photos are a good example.

It's not always an open flame that causes the problem. The heat coming off a barbeque can be enough to warp, melt, discolor, or permanently damaged vinyl siding.

A few things to keep in mind:

🔥Keep barbecues a safe distance from your home (3 to 10 feet)
🔥Be mindful of heat when opening the lid
🔥Watch for siding that starts to look wavy, bubbled, or discolored
🔥Don't forget about fire tables and patio heaters too

The good news ? It's one of the easiest causes of siding damage to prevent.

It's been a wet week out there☔️🏡

After several days of rain, have you ever noticed that some areas of your siding seem to stay wet longer than others ?

In many cases, that's completely normal. Shady areas, spots under roof lines, and sections that don't get much airflow can take longer to dry out.

What you don't want to see is persistent moisture issues, water stains, or signs water is getting where it shouldn't.

That's one reason proper installation matters so much. Vinyl siding, flashing, and weather barriers work together to help manage moisture and protect your home from the elements. Most homeowners never think about what's happening behind the siding and that's a good thing ! When everything is installed correctly, it's doing it's job quietly in the background.

Days like this really remind you how much your home's exterior goes through over the years...blazing sun, wind, rain, snow...Canadian weather doesn't exactly take it easy on anything outside🏡

One thing we love about vinyl siding is how low maintenance it is, even through all the seasons and temperature swings.

Days like this are a good reminder of how important it is for your siding to be properly installed and secured. When everything is done right, it helps your home stand up to whatever the weather throws at it.

If you notice anything after a windy day such as loose pieces, rattling, or something that just doesn't look right then it's always worth taking a closer look.

A little glimpse at what goes into a siding project. Those clean lines and sharp finishes around windows, doors and corners don't just happen. The metal trim has to be carefully measured and bent to fit each home just right.

It takes patience, precision and experience to get it looking clean and professional.

Shout out to Jenn, who does an amazing job bending trim for our projects which makes every finish look its best.

Small details like this make a difference.
