T H A N K Y O U
from the bottom of our hearts all the way to the top
🧡

If you're new here - our founder and Construction Manager recently suffered a severe spinal cord injury and had to abruptly leave his very active role in Habetin Homes.

Michal and myself are beyond proud and impressed with the way our team has stepped up to continue work on our projects as normal, without delay. It's been an even smoother process than we could have hoped for. Our trades and construction community have shown up to support not just ourselves but our homeowners and our team on sites... so to everyone involved, including the patient and loving homeowners we call dear friends now - thank you.

I am so astounded by this beautiful home and proud it's being constructed under the Habetin name, and wanted to share it with our community and followers. This is Michal's level of craftmanship, and our team has continued his building legacy every day.

And now, I will begin sharing more about our next chapter. While Michal enters a rehab phase of his journey before he returns home - where he will have to adapt to a very different life than before his accident - a group of amazing people are helping us build our own home so it's ready for him to return to. I look forward to sharing updates more often, both on our personal and company projects and thanking all those involved along the way. Thank you for following this next part of our journey.

Taryn here...As many of you know by now, our incredible founder sustained a life changing spinal cord injury Friday January 9th while doing what he loves, playing hockey. How you know Michal may differ - construction, Saskatoon, Vancouver, hockey, growing up on the Coast - but no matter how you met him, you have seen his light. Michal has a sparkle in his eye and a grin that reminds you to enjoy the moment, live in the present, go on adventures, and to take chances.

To me, he's my life partner before my business partner... and my very best friend. There is no doubt in my mind that he is my person - if destiny is real, we are destined to be together.

Working together, I have always been inspired by his craftsmanship, attention to detail, kindness and love for all the people we engage with every day.

Alot of people in our industry have reached out to see how they can help. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. Our team is continuing to work and projects are moving along without delay. It was very important to me from the outset that Operations continue. If you're hearing this news for the first time, we are not taking on new work at this time and apologize profusely for any delays with emails or payments etc. I am managing operations from afar with the support of our existing systems - administrative support, bookkeeping etc. Our project manager, Adam, has taken over Michal's responsibilities. Our team is skilled, strong, and incredibly determined to continue doing the wonderful job they always have.

I felt like an update is overdue knowing some people have turned here for news. I'd like to thank Everyone who has sent messages and kind words - thank you SO much!! The love and support from this community has been truly inspiring. Every day I'm shocked by how lucky we are.

If you are wondering how to help, please feel free to reach out to the Jenkins family, Hamilton family, and Josh Gray / Custom Flooring team, or Miles Duncan- they are all spearheading projects, know how to have the biggest impact, or can provide more timely updates. Michal has a long road to recovery and we're not sure when he's coming home, but he is coming home 🏡🧡🤍

A few blurry photos that really don't do this night justice. Thank you to our team and all the partners for celebrating a great 2025 with us in style at earlier this month 🍾🫶🏼

Gathering early in the season this year proved to be a very celebratory way of ringing in the season and motivating us for the final push before the well deserved break - our team has been crushing it on sites this month. Thank you to the Team at Station for the incredible meal, atmosphere, 🍷, and warm welcoming service. Can't wait to visit again soon.

While we focus on residential construction - we also love developing retail spaces and giving a brand a place to call home.

At Coastal Green - We kept this project completely local - from window coverings to security and automation. But we really owe a shout out to HL Enterprises for this collab. They supplied all metal fabrication and welding needed for these many displays and canopies - while the millwork was crafted in house. The HL team spent many hours with us onsite, and we couldn't have pulled it off without their support and attention to detail.

The best thing about a commercial project - years later, we still get to stop in and see our handy work when ever we want! I mean, when ever they're open.

Don't forget to shop local this upcoming holiday season 💚🎄

Remembrance day has taken on a slightly different meaning for us this year, after spending time in Warsaw (Warszawa), where Michal grew up. Warsaw is truly an epicentre for WWII history, it's turbulent past is honoured on every corner, in every square... actually the fact that the city itself exists and thrives today is a testament to the strength of the Polish people.

▫️Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - originally erected after WWI, it's the only remains of the Saxon Palace which was destroyed during WWII. It's rumoured that N**i soldiers opposed orders to destroy this section of the palace out of respect for the young unknown soldier that lay to rest there.

▫️The Little Insurgent - commemorates child soldiers who fought and died during the Warsaw uprising

▫️A plaque found at Wawel Royal Castle, Krakow

▫️Warsaw Uprising Monument

▫️Jewish Ghetto walls are commemorated throughout the city with memorial plaques, boundary lines traced in the pavement, and preserved sections of original walls

▫️The "Jeweled Eagles" - Royal Castle in Warsaw. The castle was intentionally destroyed during the war, then rebuilt years later. The Eagles were all stolen, a Polish symbol for sovereignty, independence, strength, and resilience. One original was discovered and returned to the country in the 90's allowing these new ones to be recreated.

▫️85% of the city was destroyed. Rebuilding still continues today...

Thank you for a great opening night party last week. Always great to see one of your projects on display 😏. Great to connect with our suppliers in person, learn about new technologies and products, and get inspired for future projects ✨️

We really failed on the photo front... we'll do better next year!

One last look before the walls close up. Rough-ins, insulation, backing—this is the time to triple-check every detail. Once the drywall goes up, changes get trickier.

Excited to move into the next phase and to see the warm and welcoming details come to life at this seaside character home 🏡
