Strong patios start below the surface. 💪

Poor compaction, improper drainage and failed edge restraints can cause sinking, shifting and costly repairs. At Milne Landscaping, we build patios, walkways and driveways on a properly prepared foundation—because the work underneath matters.

A beautiful stone walkway starts with what you CAN’T see.
We don’t just lay stone on the ground and hope for the best.
This project was rebuilt from the ground up: • Old material removed
• Proper excavation
• Clear-stone base
• Geotextile separation
• Grading and compaction
• Natural stone carefully fitted
• Final cleanup and finish
The result: a natural-stone walkway built on a proper foundation, not a shortcut.

Good Hardscaping Starts Below the Surface

Water is one of the biggest causes of failed patios, walkways, retaining walls, and interlock.

Poor drainage can lead to:

- Sinking and shifting pavers
- Frost heaving
- Standing water
- Washed-out base material
- Failed edges and retaining walls
- Costly repairs

At Milne Landscaping, we don't just make stonework look good—we build it to manage water properly. Correct grading, drainage, base preparation, and compaction help protect your investment for years to come.

Build it right. Drain it right. Make it last.
