Sprayed last week now getting installed.

If any contractors or DIY'ers are interested in some spray finished baseboards feel free to reach out.

The first coat of paint is always the most difficult. Primer soaks up paint like a sponge and prevents proper levelling of the top coat.

Working with sprayed boards results in exceptional end results since the top coat can self level and minimize brush or roller marks.

Basement demo underway. So far no gold or rolls of cash in the walls. Just inadequate insulation/vapour barrier and garbage that the drywallers left behind 50 years ago.

If you own a house pre-1980s, missing insulation on the bottom half is very common.

I know alot of people prefer new builds for the assumption that "its new, its not going to have issues". Unfortunately that's not accurate.

This is floor drain from a house built within the last 10 years. The water running is the condensate from the furnace/air conditioner. Normally the condensate is supposed to drain in the pipe (floor drain), but in this case it was draining to underneath the slab of the house since the floor drain wasnt finished.

This creates more than one issue, but the main one, that lead to discovery was, the smell of sewer gas. Since the condensate was not properly draining the water in the trap evaporated and allowed sewer gas to enter the house.

Figure I'd start sharing a few of my side projects, because why not?

First time working with stainless steel and my first time building a custom car exhaust. Everything is tacked up and ready for full welds.

The pieces were cut into 'pie' shapes to create bends without the use of a tube bender.

As the snow begins to melt, it’s important to make sure your eavestroughs aren’t leaking and that water isn’t pooling against your foundation.

The immediate concern is water in your basement causing damage.
However, one of the more serious (and expensive) long-term issues is foundation damage. In my experience, majority of the foundation problems I’ve seen are caused by water, often due to leaking eavestroughs or missing/damaged downspouts. More info in caption.

If you’re noticing:
- Leaking eavestroughs
- Missing or short downspouts
- Water pooling near your foundation
- Poor grading around your home
