A driveway is only as strong as the hidden base underneath it. When a crew rushes the job by skipping proper excavation depth or cutting corners on gravel compaction, they’re setting a trap. Water gets trapped under the slab, expands during our brutal Lambton County freeze-thaw cycles, and literally pushes the concrete apart from below.
To survive local weather, a long-lasting pour needs two things done right:
