AI is not just for writing emails or making captions.
The real opportunity is using it to fix the boring, messy workflows inside your business.
For us, one of the biggest gaps was between supplier invoices, POs, Jobber, QuickBooks and job costing.
We were already using good software, but there were still parts that needed too much manual checking. Invoices coming in, costs needing to land on the right job, POs needing to match, supplier charges needing to be reviewed, and admin having to catch anything that looked off.
So we built a custom workflow that connects more of it together.
The app does a lot more than this, and I’ll be sharing more of what we’ve been building, but this was one of the first features that produced a real return for us.
It has helped catch material that was missed, billed incorrectly, or not tied properly to the right job.
That matters because those small misses add up fast in a contracting business.
Now the system helps read invoices, match them to jobs, flag issues, push costs where they need to go, and give us a clearer picture of what each job is actually costing.
That is where AI gets exciting to me.
Not replacing people.
Taking the repetitive checking, sorting and matching work off their plate so they can spend more time on the things that actually need judgment.
If you own a business, look at anything your team copies, checks, matches or re-enters every week.
That is probably where your first automation opportunity is.
