It’s always so random, and somestimes the pieces are for sale here first, so make sure to follow along and engage with my posts to keep them in your algorithym. Welcome to my new business page MoniQue’s! (Pronounced Moni-Qs)
This is where I will share my latest creations. It will be a huge variety of things, things that my creative brain wants to do that particular day. Don’t expect structure, I’m a bit of a free spirit when it comes to my creativity, I tend to bounce around and work on what my heart ❤️ desires! I have a large assortment of furniture that is waiting for me in storage and I work at the local Transfer Station (love this 2 days a week job) so you may also see the odd dumpster rescue as well. ❤️
I might paint or I might strip paint. I might repurpose and I may even build from scratch. I also work at the local Greenhouse and love flowers so it might be flowers and landscaping, it might just be a simple craft or I might even sew! Sometimes my dad and husband help me with a few projects. It’s going to be ALL OVER THE PLACE, I can promise you that! 😁
I have always loved home decor, antiques and anything rustic and old. I am also passionate about salvaging and reducing the amount of waste in our landfills, part of my job. Many people see some stuff as trash but I see it as an opportunity to reinvent it and give it a second chance at life. Many of my pieces will be for sale because I don’t need or have a spot for it. There will definitely be some unique, one of a kind pieces and there may also be repeat popular items. They will be for sale here first before I list on marketplace. I also hope I can inspire others to takle their own projects or just simply answer any questions you may have. I’ve always dreamed of having a work space with ALL the tools to do ALL the THINGS! I finally have that space of my dreams and sadly it only happened because my father in law passed in 2020 and we brought his workshop home. I hope I do him proud, that his tools will continue to be used. It won’t be in the same way he used them, he built the most beautiful pieces of solid wood furniture. His talents far exceed mine. He was to the 32nd of an inch kind of guy and I’m more of “1/4 inch-ish” kinda gal. 😄

No one was around this weekend so I took the time to play with more fall decor.
I found some white berries. I have no idea what they are and I’ve never seen them before. If anyone knows please comment.
I’m hoping they dry nice and I can also use them for Christmas containers.

Finally went in the shop to do something for fun. Pulled out my fall related supplies and made these two pieces.
I’m not ashamed to say some stuff is from the dollar store, some from Hobby Lobby, some from the TIOLI (Take it or Leave it at the dump) and some stuff was given to me.
My attempt at making a different style of bow that I saw on line. I felt like I was all thumbs at some points.

This is somewhat of an upcycle post.
This vintage, I don’t even know what to call it, food processor came in the Take-it or leave-it shack at the dump. It was missing a foot but I’ve been wanting one, we shred a lot of cheese at times, and I never got around to ordering one. Its rubber feet were also no longer rubber. The rubber dried out.
I brought it home, cleaned it and told husband I wanted to look for new feet for it. Even if I had to make something. He figured out the size and thread type and found some on Amazon! He is so good at hunting down parts online. Does it all the time.
So now the suctions work and there’s 4 of them! No wobble!
Another item saved from the trash! ❤️🥰

Some before and afters!
Painting is completed, thanks to my cousin Reanne for coming out to help, many hands do make light work.
Fresh ceiling and walls in bedroom, hallway and laundry room.
I love the smell of fresh paint!
Now it’s clean up and some set up, it is going to be occupied for a week.

My absolute favourite….priming!! That’s when the sh*tty task of mudding and taping (I hate it) pays off and is OVER! The satisfaction of rolling over all the different colours to create one blank slate!
So satisfying!!! I did run out of primer so I couldn’t cover all the yellow yet.

A little side project on the little house that wasn’t on the agenda but needed to be addressed as the stairs were getting dangerously close to letting go. A sort of temporary fix with lumber we had on hand.
New concrete blocks.
Eventually I want to redo the siding and add a covered porch.
This is the same house I redid the kitchen/livingroom and am currently working on the master bedroom to make a walk in closet.

Husband wanted to make vanilla because we seem to buy a lot of it when we travel to Mexico. He started his batch November 27/25. Also did a small batch with bourbon.
Yesterday he made his first bottle.
We’re a little surprised at how pale it is considering how long it sat. If I’m being honest it smells like boozy vanilla. I was hoping the vanilla would overpower the boozy smell.
