Another dual-fuel heat pump system completed!

This beautiful new Hisense heat pump has been paired with a high-efficiency gas furnace and a Honeywell T10 Wi-Fi thermostat, creating an incredibly efficient and comfortable heating system for our Alberta climate.

Heat pumps are becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason. This system will handle the majority of the home’s heating needs while automatically switching to natural gas only when outdoor temperatures drop to approximately -12°C. As it stands today, my client won’t be paying for natural gas heating until we reach those colder temperatures.

What really sets this installation apart is the ongoing support. Over the next year, I’ll be monitoring system performance closely to fine-tune the balance point between comfort and efficiency. Every home is different, and optimizing these settings can result in even greater savings and comfort.

I’m extremely proud of how this installation turned out. Clean workmanship, premium equipment, and smart controls all working together to deliver year-round comfort.

🌤️ Alberta shoulder season problems… 😅

Heat on in the morning… ❄️➡️🔥
Then turning around and cooling the house off in the afternoon! 🥵🏠

These in-between seasons can be tough on HVAC equipment with systems constantly switching back and forth. My personal choice this time of year? 👨‍🔧
I usually leave the cooling on only. It lets the house cool down naturally overnight and delays the need for AC during the warmer afternoons. 🌙❄️☀️

Everybody’s comfort level is different though!

Really excited to finally share a bit of this project—still a work in progress but coming together nicely! 🔧🔥

This job includes (2) high-efficiency direct vent furnaces (Keeprite), a Rinnai RX 199i Tankless Water Heater, with more to come—Honeywell humidifier and a side discharge split AC system to finish it off.

A lot of thought and planning goes into every detail on jobs like this, and that’s something I take a lot of pride in. It’s that attention to detail that really sets Central Alberta HVACR apart.
