Back to school looked a little different in our shop. 😏

No pencils. No notebooks. Just a pile of wood, a few tools and an idea.

From building blocks to Batman, sometimes the best projects are the ones that are just plain fun to make.

We spend a lot of time talking about craftsmanship, quality and the details that go into our work — but at the end of the day, we’re still a couple of guys who really enjoy making cool stuff out of wood.

With back-to-school around the corner, we figured this one deserved another trip out of the archives.

If you've been wanting to see our work in person, you can now find a selection of Baker Street Studios pieces at J-Bird Apothecary in Red Deer.

We've stocked the shop with a variety of handcrafted pieces from chop sticks to cutting boards, and it's a great place to see the wood grain, feel the finish, and find a piece that speaks to you.

It's always rewarding to see one of our boards find its place in someone's home or workplace.

This custom board is now with the team at flatlinemechanical, and we appreciate them choosing something handmade.

Every piece we build has its own character, and knowing it'll be used for years to come is what it's all about.

Most people never see this stage.
