B.C. strata corporations have Electrical Planning Report deadlines coming up, and this is not something councils should leave until the last minute.

An EPR helps a strata understand its electrical capacity, future demand, EV charging readiness, and whether upgrades or load management may be needed.

The key deadlines:

December 31, 2026
Capital Regional District, Metro Vancouver, and Fraser Valley

December 31, 2028
Most other areas of B.C., including Nanaimo, Duncan, Kelowna, Vernon, Prince George, and many Northern B.C. communities

We wrote a full article explaining what strata councils need to know, including timelines, requirements, EV charging considerations, and common FAQ.

Every project starts long before the lights come on.

These photos show the progress of the new Stellat’en First Nation Administration Building. From the electrical rough-in earlier this year to completed lighting installations as the project continues to take shape.

Projects like this are built through strong collaboration between the owner, consultants, trades, and the general contractor. We're proud to be delivering the electrical scope and helping bring another important community facility to life.

Thank you to PRD Construction Ltd. for the opportunity to be part of another great project.

We're looking forward to seeing the finished building, which I might add is 10,000 sq.ft.

Some projects are about more than construction.

They're about creating places that people will enjoy, learn from, and remember for years to come.

We're proud to be part of the Ancient Forest Enhancement Project, providing the electrical installation for the new Interpretive Centre and supporting infrastructure.

From our crews mobilizing on site to installing architectural lighting inside the building, every stage brings the vision one step closer to reality.

It's rewarding to play a role in a project that celebrates one of British Columbia's most remarkable natural destinations.

A big thank you to PRD Construction Ltd. for leading the build. We're looking forward to sharing more progress as the project continues.

On Friday, June 5, members of The ESL Group - Electrical Solutions team had a great day out at the 2026 NRCA Annual Golf Tournament at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club.

We were proud to have two foursomes in the tournament and to support the event as a sponsor. Any day that brings together construction, community, questionable putting, and a good cause is a win in our books.

This year’s tournament supported the Honour the Work Program, an initiative that helps introduce students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 to the skilled trades through early education classroom kits. That is something worth getting behind. The future of construction starts long before the jobsite.

A big thank you to the Northern Regional Construction Association for hosting another excellent tournament, and to everyone who helped make the day a success.

Also, special shoutout to our ladies’ team for taking home the award for “most honest team.” We won’t ask too many questions about the scorecard.

Imagine this...

A sudden power outage shuts down operations in your facility.
Production halts. Staff are frustrated. Clients are impacted.

The repair bill?

MASSIVE

The truth is, most outages are preventable with a proper electrical maintenance plan.

Here’s why it matters:

→ Safety: Prevent risks caused by failing systems.
→ Compliance: Stay on the right side of BC Electrical Code.
→ Cost Savings: Reduce downtime and expensive repairs.

All three of our BC offices provide commercial and industrial full-service electrical maintenance, from testing to long-term system planning.

April is Construction Month in BC, and as we are about to close out and head into May, we wanted to take a moment to talk about the construction industry as a whole.

BC’s construction industry is growing, but it’s not without challenges.

🔹 89% of companies deal with late payments

The demand is there. The opportunity is massive.

But so is the pressure.
