Sharing some photos of gardens we’ve been tending to over these past few weeks. Did you know that Fall is a great time to plant?! Sharing some photos of another recent garden install. We removed a large patch of periwinkle and bellflower, replacing it with an assortment of native perennials including woodland phlox, uvularia, bee balm, grey headed coneflower, lance leaf coreopsis, anise hyssop, obedient plant and ironweed. These plants are all new and small right now but the goal is they will grow together in an informal, meadowy type way as opposed to a more formal style of garden. If you have invasive species you would like to replace, feel feee to reach out as we’re currently doing design work and booking for fall planting jobs.

Two years ago, this was a lawn bordered by buckthorn and dog strangling vine and now it’s filled with native species including little bluestem, culver’s root, bee balm, lance leaf coreopsis, Canada anemone, prairie smoke, bearberry and false blue indigo. We designed and installed this garden and return regularly for maintenance visits. It’s been great getting to see it grow!

Another recent project: we removed a section of astroturf (and a one foot deep layer of limestone screenings that was below it), created a new planting bed, and installed a flagstone pathway.

You can find our planters and wreaths along with many other handmade goods from local artisans at the community holiday market. It’s running today and tomorrow from 10 to 3 at 1922 Selwyn Road, Lakefield.
