Centre Block Parliamentary Welcome Centre

🔹Waterproofing Progress🔹

Waterproofing work continues at the Parliamentary Welcome Centre during the ongoing rehabilitation of this historic structure.
Crews remained active through winter conditions, focused on installing a waterproofing system that will protect this building and its contents for decades to come. This work supports the long-term integrity of the structure as multiple scopes move forward in parallel.

The ice cream cake may have left its mark on a few shirts, but it definitely wasn’t the only thing we walked away with after last Friday’s celebration.

As part of Covertite’s 75th anniversary, a symbolic illuminated piece was designed and unveiled to our team, with employees from across the country joining in the celebration.

A huge thank you to Roger Auclair, who poured his heart, creativity, and countless hours into designing and creating this iconic display. Every detail was intentionally crafted with meaning, representing pieces of our history, our values, and the people who helped build this company over the last 75 years.

We couldn’t be prouder to display it in our new boardroom.

Most importantly, this milestone belongs to the people who made it possible.

To every employee, client, partner, and subcontractor who has been part of the Covertite story over the years, thank you. Your trust, hard work, and support have shaped who we are today.

Here’s to the next chapter and many more milestones ahead.

And most of them don’t start on site.

They start earlier, in how components are fabricated and delivered⬇️

Most façade issues don’t start on site. They start before fabrication.
That’s where projects begin to lose traction.

This is the first in a short series on how we approach in-house fabrication at Covertite.
Over the years, Covertite has built a specialized capability in the in-house fabrication of architectural façade systems.
Not as an add-on, but as a way to stay accountable and reduce risk across the project.
Our clients trust the result because the process remains consistent from start to finish:

➡️ Fewer handoffs.
➡️ Clear responsibility.
➡️ Stronger coordination between design, fabrication, and installation.

We work with ACM, aluminum plate, and fiber cement panels to produce custom panels and accessories that match the design intent and perform in the field, using in-house CNC cutting and project-specific fabrication methods.

By keeping fabrication internal, we:

✅ Avoid unnecessary dependencies, and
✅ Keep ex*****on aligned with the original plan.
