Today is 4 years in business! We took a leap and started this company together in the middle of a pandemic. What better timing, right? We have worked hard to get here today and are proud of our work together.

Our customer was doing a full renovation for their powder room. They requested Ditra Membrane Mat installation. They also requested tile baseboards with black shluters.

Photo 1-4: we covered the floor with thick protective flooring paper. This is to ensure the laid tile is safe while we install the tiled baseboards; we continued with the black shluters on top of the baseboards

Powder Room Floor Renovation Pt.3

Time to grout!
路Grouted in North Sea Grey

Photo 1: clips have been removed; cleaned out the joints (space between tiles) in case any thinset was pushed up; vacuumed and ready for grouting

Video 2 & Photo 3: Dmytro spreading the grout; the process of grouting; the floor is small and Dmytro is a fast worker, so he was able to grout the whole floor before it dried; once grout dries, it cannot be washed off

Video 4 & Photo 5: cleaning the grout; darker grout colours are harder to clean on polished surfaces-as you can see it spreads as we wipe the sponge down the tile. Extra caution is taken so the grout in the joints isn't wiped out

Powder Room Floor Renovation Pt.2

Next up, tile installation!

Photo 1: Dmytro marking out his lines to follow a 1/3-2/3 pattern with 12x24 Calacatta tile

Video 2-3: spreading thinset using 1/2" trowel. Any tile that is 12x24 or larger in size, we use at least 1/2" trowel or bigger to make sure the thinset is covered evenly.

Photo 4: first couple rows complete with two cuts around the toilet fl**ge

Photo 5: Dmytro makes it look effortless as he speeds along installing the next couple rows; we use clips to keep the tile from having any lippage

Video 6: adding extra thinset in specific places as the floor is uneven. We want to ensure the thinset will cover all underneath the tile, that it will sit evenly as well as being leveled with the rest of the laid tile, for an overall even floor

Powder Room Floor Renovation Pt.1

Our customer was doing a full renovation for their powder room. They requested Ditra Membrane Mat installation. They also requested tile baseboards with black shluters.

Photo 1&2: demolition of the old tile; you can see in the first photo, the floor was tiled around where the vanity was. This is not standard. Everything should be removed and the floor should be tiled completely before any other installation.
There was tile on top of laminate flooring, on top of 2 layers of subfloor. Luckily the last layer of subfloor was in perfect condition and didn't need to be replaced.

Photo 6-8&10: installtion of Ditra Membrane Mat; measuring and fitting the mat then installing a perfect fit. Thinset is used to seal it to the subfloor

Video (slide 9): applying thinset to the floor; using a 3/8" trowel to spread the thinset. Usually we use 1/4" trowel but the floor was really wonky and old so we used a bigger trowel to make sure everything was covered

路路Kerdi Waterproofing System is 100% waterproofing areas that are consistently wet like showers and bath tubs

路Next step is installing the Kerdi Waterproofing System on floor, walls and fireplace. Our customer requested this for extra waterproofing.

Full Bathroom Tile Renovation PT.1

Our customer wanted a full bathroom renovation including Shluter Heated Floor System, Kerdi Waterproofing System, Floor tile, Wall tile and Fireplace

路We started this fun renovation with the Schluter Heated Floor System. As we show in the photos, the wire needs to be installed equally and a certain distance from each other in order for the system to work efficiently and without burning out the wires in the long run. If the wires are not positioned properly from one another, depending on the subfloor material (concrete or plywood), they can overheat. They also cannot be under any stationary objects like bathtubs, vanities or toilets as they can over heat and/or melt wax around the toilet.
This can be challenging at times but we love a challenge and will always make sure it is perfect before we move onto the next step.
