Gemstone track comes in different finishes so it can match what it's mounted to. On this Langley Township home that meant two of them on one house. In daylight you should be noticing the house, not the lighting.

After dark it's a full Gemstone LED system, with a new power supply and a Hub 2 controller. The homeowner sets it from their phone.

An addition is easiest to wire before the drywall goes on.

That's where we started on this one in Osoyoos. Rough-in wiring first. Then baseboard heat, exhaust fans, and new circuits for the crawl space lights and cameras. Cat 6 run while the walls were open. New smoke and CO detectors.

Once the drywall was up we finished the outlets, switches and lighting, and put the exterior fixtures and plugs back on.

Planning an addition? Talk to an electrician while it's still open framing. Moving a circuit takes minutes now and a lot more work later.
