Good builders measure. Housewrap taped, windows flashed, details done right, and then a blower door test puts a number on it. Testing before drywall gives you the most room to tighten the envelope while everything is still open. What number did your last build come in at?

Every energy model needs an airtightness number. If nobody has tested the house yet, that number is an assumption.

We measure it. The reading updates live during the seal, so you finish the day knowing the real figure, not hoping the model was right. Measured, not assumed.

Pressurize the house and air rushes out through every gap. The sealant rides that flow and closes the gaps from the inside, even the ones you can't see or reach. Get a quote: okaerobarrier.com/fb

Happy Thanksgiving from Okanagan AeroBarrier.

Most of our work comes from a builder or an energy advisor telling someone else about us. To everyone who has passed our name along: thank you. It means a lot to a local business.

Enjoy the long weekend.

2027 is closer than your next build.

Step 4 is scheduled to become the provincial minimum for new homes in BC. That drops the airtightness target from 2.5 to 1.5 ACH50. Doesn’t sound like much. It is.

At 2.5, a careful crew gets there with caulk, foam and tape. At 1.5, attention to detail stops being a strategy. And Step 5 sits at 1.0.

The builders who figure out Step 4 before it’s mandatory get to fail a test and fix it. After 2027, a failed test is a schedule hit and a budget hit.

Measured. Verified. Done in hours.

Okanagan builders: keep us in your back pocket.

9 homes failed their final airtightness test since Sept 1. Drywall up, occupancy waiting, one number blocking the CO. We took all 9 from fail to pass.

Every one was avoidable. Plan AeroBarrier in before drywall and you’re never on this list. Leave it to chance and you’re calling us in a panic.

Failed final? Call first. Better yet, don’t be one of the 9.
