It can be tough starting up when it comes to renovating an older home.

Where to start? How far do you go? Budget?

What to repair and refinish vs what to take down and start again?

Sometimes all you need is some motivation and support to get the wheels turning, and that’s exactly what our customers needed to help get their project moving forward.

- A tired old deck due for dismantle/removal

From a 30 year old laurel hedge, to a beautiful, long lasting cedar and vertical corrugated metal fence which doubles as a retaining wall on this sloped lot.

Proper staining, drainage, and elevated cast in place fence post saddles keep the posts mostly out of the ground and will ensure a long lasting fence for years to come….

A beautiful property that’s integrated into the surrounding willow trees and organic vibe gets a rustic all cedar storage shed, married together with a live edge post and vertical rough cut fence.

All cedar and materials locally sourced and the final grading complete with a fresh 5/8” minus driveway front to back.

Some updates on our current renovation project!

A 1970’s home with big potential…

Full service upgrades including electrical, plumbing ,gas and septic followed by structural upgrades and changes throughout to accommodate our new floor plan and design.

With the original wall framing being 2x4 construction we have framed out all the exterior walls to 2x6 construction that will allow for increased insulation R-value and thermal efficiency.

This dream home renovation project for our customers and friends at Deighton Creek Contracting will consist of a re designed main floor with master bedroom/closet, ensuite and powder room, open floor plan living room and kitchen with large central island. New chimney to accommodate gas fireplace inserts on the main floor and lower floor basement.

The split level basement floor of the house is undergoing structural modifications to eliminate existing posts and low hanging overhead beams to maximize the open floor concept design. A bedroom, office, guest bathroom, mechanical room, and large open living room will be heated with new radiant in floor heating following basement slab removal.

Large door openings were created for new French doors with glass to add more natural light into the space along with reframed window openings generously placed throughout.

Really looking forward to seeing some more progress on this one 👍

Some updated photos of our custom timbre frame deck build for our customers looking for an outside space to match the beauty of their heritage, hunting lodge style home tucked away in the serene, rocky landscape of Lund harbour…

Custom powder coated aluminum handrails with glass were supplied and professionally installed by Manzanita Railings.

Just waiting on the moisture content of our locally milled cedar to meet the right percentage before our painting team at Avant Painting can stain the structure and deck to bring out the beautiful grain and add some long term protection to the finished product 👍

Where there was once no access to the laneway and minimal parking,

We retrofitted a driveway and a retaining wall mounted old growth cedar fence with black corrugated aluminum inlays to resist UV to this sun soaked, south of town back yard.

Some added integral concrete wall lighting to illuminate the gate entry after sun down will really finish this little project off nicely…

Jus finishing up the last couple details of a customers dream deck project,

Black, metal snap lock roofing, gutters, and semi frameless aluminum and glass handrails will finish off this project so it’s ready to be enjoyed by our customers.

This project was an absolute joy to be apart of…Rough sawn cedar showcased well and is still a crowd favorite for many here on the sunshine coast 👍
