It’s a chair-ity! 😂

Our client found these chairs on Marketplace and saw what they could be. She’s customizing them to suit her home — starting with a completely new colour: Benjamin Moore My Valentine 1330. ❤️

And these chairs are going to need some serious love. That old paint job has to be smoothed out before we can even get to the fun part.

But that’s the beauty of refinishing. Find something you like, have a little vision, and make it completely your own.

With a colour called My Valentine, this chair-ity is definitely going to be a labour of love. ❤️

This client knew exactly what he wanted — and the changes were subtle, but they made a big difference.

The original thermofoil doors were replaced with new doors, while the existing countertops and backsplash stayed exactly where they were.

Up top, he chose clean slab doors with minimal hardware. On the lowers, a beveled Shaker-style door with longer handles added just a little more detail.

The old desk area became a display cabinet for some of his sentimental treasures, and four smaller glass doors were replaced with two larger ones so you can actually see what’s inside.

The bulkhead was filled in, crown moulding was added, and a few valances were removed to make the whole kitchen feel cleaner and more streamlined.

Finished in Benjamin Moore White Dove. 🤍

Sometimes you don’t need to change everything. You just need to know what to change.

Kitchen colour inspiration 🎨

When you’re building a colour palette, think about how the three surfaces work together — not just whether you love each colour on its own.

Keep your wall colour soft enough to complement the cabinetry, then use the island as your opportunity to add contrast and a little more depth.

The result? A kitchen that feels layered and intentional without having too much going on.

Save this one for later — and keep watching for more kitchen colour inspiration.

Sometimes the best transformations are the ones that let the original details shine. 🖤

This beautiful buffet went from traditional cherry to a rich black finish — keeping all that gorgeous fluting, carving and original brass hardware right where it belongs.

Same piece. Completely different presence.

A little history hidden underneath.

While prepping this curved glass cabinet for paint, we found an old repair made with part of a wooden advertising sign. You can still read “Deer Valley,” “Glendale, Arizona,” and “Product of U.S.A.”

These are the little surprises that make working on antiques so much fun.

When these homeowners purchased their new home, the kitchen still had its original 16-year-old glazed finish. Over time, the cabinets had yellowed, and the decorative k***s had become lost in the details.

Before moving in, they decided to give the kitchen a fresh new look. We professionally spray painted the existing cabinets in Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace, creating a brighter, cleaner, more current space while keeping the original cabinetry.

Thinking about updating your kitchen? Text us a few photos, and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

This antique crescent display cabinet is officially underway. 🖤

We’re stripping away the old chalk paint, repairing years of wear, sanding every shelf, gluing one that’s developed a slight warp over the years, and polishing the original hardware before it heads into the spray booth.

One of the things that makes this piece so special is the glass. Every panel is curved—a beautiful detail that’s becoming harder and harder to find.

Next stop: a matte black finish. We can’t wait to show you the transformation.

P.S. We asked ChatGPT to create a preview of what the finished cabinet might look like in black. The last image is its interpretation—not an exact replica, but a fun sneak peek of where we’re headed. 🖤

Tell me the weirdest thing you’ve ever found in a kitchen. Not messy. Not outdated. I mean the kind of thing that made you stop and say, “What the hell?” 😂
