🔥 2-Ton SpacePak High-Velocity System — Toronto, ON

Installing a high-velocity system from scratch in an existing home is no small job! 🏠💨

For this project, we installed a 2-ton SpacePak high-velocity air conditioning system with 12 registers — 2 serving the main floor and 10 serving the second floor.

The best part? This wasn’t a renovation. We were able to install the entire system without opening up massive sections of walls or tearing the house apart. Our team worked through the attic and carefully routed the small-diameter high-velocity ductwork where it needed to go.

⏱️ About one week from start to finish — right in the middle of a Toronto summer heat wave. 🥵

It was definitely a challenging install, but the result speaks for itself: a clean installation, effective cooling throughout the home, and a very happy customer. ❄️

Thinking about a SpacePak or high-velocity HVAC system for your home? Whether it’s a new installation or you’re trying to find a solution without major renovations, give us a call.

Epsilon Mechanical – Service Tech Storytime 🔧🔥

Some of the toughest HVAC calls aren’t the obvious ones. No snapped igniter. No seized inducer. Just an issue that comes and goes… the worst kind.

In this case, the furnace looked perfect on paper. No error codes. Everything operating normally. But the house wasn’t heating consistently.

So I did what good service techs do — I waited.
Over 40 minutes of watching everything: inducer, gas valve, pressure switch, burners, supply temp, condensate pump… all of it 👀

Then it happened. The furnace shut down.
No call for heat. No signal from the thermostat to the heating terminal on the control board.

Bingo 🎯
Bad thermostat — the heating relay was intermittently opening during operation.

Lesson of the day:
A great service tech isn’t rushed or reactive.
They’re patient, calm, and observant — arguably the three most important traits in this trade.

That’s how real problems get solved. 💪🔥

🔥 No heat call turned into a save 🔧
We showed up right after install and were told it was “just a dirty filter.” Customer wanted a proper once-over — good call.

During high fire we caught a stuttering gas valve, pressure switch clicking, and water sloshing in the exhaust. Turns out the exhaust wasn’t sloped correctly, trapping condensation in a 90° bend and causing back pressure.

We corrected the venting, adjusted gas pressure, and fixed what should’ve been done during install. Furnace now running smooth — no callbacks.

If you want your furnace done right the first time (especially in winter), call Epsilon Mechanical.
Install it right. Heat stays on. 💪🔥

🔥 Boiler maintenance = system longevity 🔥

This cast iron heat exchanger was carboned up, trapping heat and tripping the rollout switch 🚨
That’s how small issues turn into big failures.

Regular maintenance doesn’t just fix problems — it prevents breakdowns, improves efficiency, and extends the life of your equipment 💪

We service all types of heating equipment, including hydronic & hydraulic systems 💧🔥
Don’t wait for a no-heat call — maintain it before it fails.

⚠️ This is why maintenance matters. ⚠️

We were called out to inspect a York rooftop unit and the carbon monoxide levels were through the roof. The heat exchanger was compromised—and to replace it, the unit had to be almost completely torn down.

⏱️ About 4 hours of tough, tight-access work
❄️ Done in the middle of winter
🚨 Emergency conditions

If this unit had been inspected in the spring, summer, or early fall, the issue could’ve been caught early—before it turned into a full emergency repair. We don’t mind showing up when it’s cold and urgent… but emergency service comes with emergency pricing, and that’s usually what hurts the most.

Prevent the breakdown.
Protect your people.
Save your wallet.
