A little more from Project Fulton.

A lot of the planning for this home focused on creating better connections between the spaces the family uses most. Rather than treating the kitchen, dining area, family room, and backyard as separate destinations, we wanted them to feel like part of one cohesive experience.

The rear addition and large windows help bring natural light deep into the home, while creating a stronger connection to the backyard beyond.

It’s still a rendering for now, but we’re excited to see this one begin to take shape.

One of the things we’ve become known for is blending heritage and modern design, and it’s something I genuinely love.

There are so many beautiful older homes across Toronto and the GTA. They have character, craftsmanship, and details that would be incredibly difficult to recreate today. But the reality is that families live very differently than they did 50 or 100 years ago.

A lot of what we do is help those two things coexist. We look at how a family lives today and find ways to improve flow, function, storage, and connection, while still preserving the character that made them fall in love with the home in the first place.

For me, the most successful projects are the ones where the old and the new feel completely at ease together.

Some of the most successful outdoor spaces are the ones that feel like a natural continuation of the home.

In this project, the covered terrace sits directly off the main living areas, creating a space that feels connected to the interior while still immersed in the landscape beyond. The roof overhead provides shelter and shade, extending how and when the space can be used throughout the year.

It’s less about creating an outdoor room and more about expanding the way the home is lived in.

Project Fulton, from every angle.

The kitchen often becomes the centre of a renovation, but its success depends on much more than finishes.

For this family, the goal was to create a space that felt calm, functional, and connected to the rest of the home. The palette is intentionally restrained, with a Scandinavian influence that allows natural light, texture, and proportion to take the lead.

I can absolutely go with the flow… as long as the flow aligns with the project timeline, budget, vision, backup plan, and colour coded spreadsheet.

Bathroom vanities tend to carry more weight in a space than people expect.

They shape storage, circulation, lighting, and how the room functions day to day. Some are designed to disappear quietly into the architecture, while others become more of a focal point within the room.

Project Summerhill is giving summer.

In neighbourhoods like this, additions need to feel carefully integrated into the existing fabric of the street. The goal was never for the new work to overpower the original home, but to extend it in a way that feels natural and connected to how this family lives today.

The third-floor addition created much-needed space within the house, while the backyard became an extension of the interior — a quieter retreat from the pace of the city and a place for this family of five to gather, unwind, and spend time together more easily.

Projects like this are often about balance. Respecting what already exists while thoughtfully shaping what comes next.
