Leg day for the steam box. Also internal racking with some 1/2” dowels. I made the front legs roughly 2” taller than the back so any water travels down and drips out of the drainage hole at the back. Next comes the steam…

I got so excited about getting this steam box going that I made a few mistakes. I should have installed the fitting before assembling the box. I realized as I was glueing the sides that I wouldn’t be able to reach where I wanted the fitting. I have in the past put the fitting on the end cap but wanted it on the bottom around the middle this time.

The wire helped me get it to the spot but then I realized there wasn’t enough threads showing to attach the tubing. My solution was to use a 1/2” dowel in the hole then use a larger forstner bit about halfway into the 3/4” thick OSB. Also had to get creative with tightening the fitting in its spot. All better now.

I’ve made more than a few of these. You’d think I would know better. Legs and steam up next…
