Title: Grit, Gear, and 25 Years of Determination 🛠️🚴‍♂️
The equipment might change, but the work ethic stays the same! It’s been a week of pivoting and repairs behind the scenes here at David’s Reel Property Care.
The Fleet Update 🔩
The main trailer is finally solid again after some heavy-duty welding and repairs. It was a big job, but it's reinforced and ready for the long haul. With the e-bike headed into the shop later this week for some much-needed maintenance—only its second major repair in four years—that heavy trailer is taking a break while I switch gears.
Back to the "Good Old Days" 🚲
I’m officially back to basics with my Brodie mountain bike. This bike is incredibly special to me; it was a gift from a dear friend who passed away about 8 years ago. I know he’d be so proud to see it still out here on the road, working hard and helping me get the job done.
Approaching 50 years old, I’m finding the legs still have it! It’s a "slow and steady" pace, but the determination is as strong as ever.
Adapting on the Fly ⚖️
To keep things moving without the motor, I’ve switched to this lightweight 40 lb trailer. I’ve got the mower strapped down and my Toro electric trimmer filling in today while my main DeWalt gets its own repairs.
Nearly 25 years in business has taught me that equipment might break, but the hustle doesn't stop. Thanks for the continued support, London!

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! 🤝

We love a collaborative project! We handled the heavy lifting—clearing out the old turf, navigating tree roots, and sloping the ground for better drainage—while the homeowners took the lead on the edging and doing most of the mulch.
The result is a clean, level, and low-maintenance play area that's ready for some serious use. By grading the soil correctly, we’ve ensured this space stays dry and usable all season long. Wait until you see the before video! Coming soon

A Great Day at Fanshawe Pioneer Village 🌳🧹
Hello group! I wanted to share a bit about how I spent my Saturday. I headed over to one of my favorite spots in London, Fanshawe Pioneer Village, for their annual clean-up day. It’s a great event where the public can help get the grounds ready before the official opening season begins.
The best part was that my brother joined me. Since we both work in this industry—him for another company and me running my own business—we rarely get the chance to actually work alongside each other. It was a treat to spend the day together supporting such a beautiful local landmark. After we finished we stopped at my brother's place as he was accepting an incredible blessing and gift from a dear friend of ours! What a great looking bike and I know he will take good care of it!
An Unexpected Change of Plans 🌧️
I usually get around on my ebike, but it’s currently in the shop for some repairs. Between the bike being out of commission and the uncertain weather forecast, I wasn't sure if the rain would hold off long enough for us to make it happen.
Luckily, it all worked out! We ended up getting a ride from an incredible elderly couple who have been volunteering at the Village for 36 years. Hearing their stories and seeing their dedication to the community really made the day special.
It was a reminder of how much effort goes into keeping our local history alive and how many great people are behind the scenes making it happen.
Has anyone else visited Fanshawe Pioneer Village recently? It’s looking great and ready for the season! 👇

Funny how things work out sometimes.
This winter, I had a snowblower give up on me after just the 3rd driveway. Thankfully, the company stood behind their product and issued a full refund — which I really appreciated.
But instead of tossing everything aside, I decided to save the cart section and turn it into something useful.
Fast forward to now… that same DIY cart is already putting in work! I’ve been using it to haul garden bags full of leaves — and if you’ve ever dealt with those, you know how heavy they can get. Sometimes they’re so packed I can barely drag them, never mind lift them.
It’s been a simple fix, but a huge help on the job.
Just a reminder: even when something doesn’t go as planned, there’s often a way to turn it into a win 👍
If you need help with yard cleanup or leaf removal, feel free to reach out for a free estimate — happy to take a look and give you a fair quote.

A huge thank you to my brother Jessie for taking the time to fix the wheels on the shed door.
If you’ve ever had to wrestle with a heavy, stubborn door, you know the struggle—but those days are officially over. It is now opening and closing so much smoother, easier, and quieter for the first time in almost 17 years that I've been using it. It's the little things that make a big difference in a busy day. Thanks for the help, Jessie! 🛠️💪

What a day! Yesterday was packed with family, ministry support, and checking things off the 'to-do' list. ✅
From the first trip for the season to the city depot to property maintenance—and even a little DIY time in the shed—it was a win all around. Check out the new amber safety light setup on the bike! 🚨 Ready to keep the momentum going. 🌿💨
