Here we’re looking at the full exterior rebuild: new air barrier, new insulation, and new siding.

The original walls were leaking moisture and air, so we stripped the exterior, installed a continuous air barrier, added upgraded insulation, and finished it with durable siding. Tightening the wall system brought the home’s energy use down from 177 GJ to 102 GJ (estimated per year) — about 46% less energy — with more improvements still to come.

A better building envelope means a warmer house in winter, a cooler house in summer, and long-term savings every day.
