A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE LOCAL 👊

August was a busy month for us, and honestly, it came from people right here in the area - calling us, recommending us, or simply passing our name along.

The shop is full for the next two weeks, and the two weeks after that we’re out supplying manpower.

That’s a full month of work for our crew because local companies and local people chose to call us.

We appreciate that more than you know.

Finished up a set of custom plates for a customer and started on the first of three shop tables.

We’re taking on more custom fabrication, welding, and repair work along with our millwrighting services.

🟧 Coat of paint, that's all she takes. 🟧

Broken tube came in, sleeved with 1/4" pipe and burned in three passes all the way around. Ground it back, hit it with the orange, and you'd never know it let go.

Quick turnaround and cost effectively repaired this customers tractor.

First job in our own shop ready for tomorrow morning!

A retaining bolt fell out of this Kubota loader pin and eventually the pin walked out with it. The operator was pushing snow and had no idea it fell out and every time he tilted the bucket back, a support bracket that holds the arms in place was driving into the frame. Eventually it punched clean through the support piping.

Nothing dramatic when it happened. Just a small part that went missing and a bracket doing a job it was never meant to do.

The nice part: with the new shop we could have two of these on the floor at the same time and still have room to work. That's the whole reason we wanted the space!

No job is to big or too small! Bring on the work!

After a couple of long days, our repair, fabrication and welding bay is finally ready to go.

Welders are plugged in. Power's on. Floor's clear.

Quality control came through and gave it a lap on the bike - she approved. 🚲

🏡 Big News from Holmes Lake Contracting Inc.!

We're excited to announce the purchase of our new shop and property!

Just outside Larder Lake, we have about 7 acres of land and 2 working shop spaces with a combined square footage of nearly 4000 square feet!

This is a major milestone for HLC and another step toward expanding our services and better supporting our clients across Northern Ontario.

From this new location, we'll continue providing:

Our work covers industrial maintenance, shutdowns, installations, and fabrication, much of it for operating gold mines in Northern Ontario.

We're looking for driven individuals who can work independently, stay safety-focused, take pride in their work, and are willing to travel.

🚨Stepping into fabrication!

Most people know Holmes Lake Contracting for our millwright services and skilled manpower across Northern Ontario. Now we're building things too, even on short notice!

Thanks to our crew, we dedicated 5 days to safely fabricate and send out the work as we had to make way for a 2 week major shutdown up at another mine site on the monday with 6 guys! (Another post later!)

A few weeks ago, we wrapped our first in-house fabrication project:

🔹 2 heavy-duty rock bins
🔹 3 custom 13-foot steel bumpers

Material prep, fit-up, welding, assembly, delivery - all done by our crew, built to take a beating in the mining world.

Millwrights. Manpower. Field welding. And now custom fabrication.

If it needs to get done safely and done right, we're ready for any projects handed!

Thanks to our customer for trusting us with the first one. There'll be plenty more!

Hiring a Millwright/Welder or both.

Holmes Lake Contracting is looking for an experienced millwright/welder.

Work is a mix of millwrighting, welding, and general contract jobs. Conveyors, crushers, structural, plate work, installs, shutdowns. Lots of variety.

Looking for a Red Seal or 3rd year apprentice. More experience the better. Need someone who can take a job and run with it without being watched over.

Small company, you deal directly with the owner. Wages based on experience, OT available.
