Recently completed chimney repair in Kitchener.

We rectified a number of errors from the previous repair. Including a properly sized chimney cap. Cell vents to improve air flow. New flashing to ensure the chimney is water tight.

This chimney is ready to stand the test of time!

Here’s a chimney we rebuilt this season. Took the chimney down into the flashing. Replaced the flashing with new black aluminum flashing (won’t rust) and rebuilt the chimney with the best brick match available. As always a new chimney cap and properly waterproofed crown. Looks really sharp and will last a lifetime!

This chimney was in terrible condition. It was determined the chimney was no longer needed at this time. We took it down into the flashing. We built it back up above the flashing and capped it off eliminating the possibility of any future water damage.

Took some time this morning to walk around Breslau Community Centre to pick up some trash. Didn’t take long until our cart was full!!

There once stood an old decrepit chimney through this roof.

At one point it was used to vent a hot water heater. The homeowners had a new hot water heater installed. That new hot water heater was direct vented out of the side wall of their house.

Which left the failing chimney no longer needed.

So they approached Breslau Masonry Repair. We suggested removing the chimney all together and framing/shingling over the roof.

So that’s what we did. Removed the chimney below the roofline. Framed in the chimney opening. Plywood. Water barrier and a perfect shingle match.

It’s like the chimney never existed.

Our latest project was a BIG one. Full chimney tear down and re build.

The previous chimney had decayed due to water runoff from the roof cascading down the brick instead of into the eaves.

We made sure to properly flash the areas of concern during our rebuild. We water tested to make sure the runoff from the roof finds its way to the eaves and not down the brickwork.

As always we triple waterproofed the chimney crown. Added a stainless steel rain cap to prevent rain snow and critters from entering the flue tiles.

We also added a custom concrete shoulder.

This chimney is ready to stand the test of time!

Here’s a job we completed recently in Waterloo. Great brick match. New one piece chimney cap. Some new flue tiles & a properly sealed mortar shelf to prevent any future water intrusion.

Removed the old cracked mortar shelf and 2 piece chimney cap (which was allowing water in)

Replaced the damaged bricks down to the flashing with a perfect brick match.

1 piece chimney cap (no seams)

3x waterproofed with mortar/fast drying repair cement/tar sealant & fresh caulking for the flashing.

This chimney is ready to take on the wind rain and snow once again!

Chimney was no longer needed at this home. Breslau Masonry Repair was able to remove the chimney completely. Shingle over the roof & fill in the fascia/eaves. We blocked in & parged over the foundation to give a clean finished look.
