Big shoutout to VEVOR Home Improvement Canada 🇨🇦

We picked up this VEVOR 1100 lb electric cable hoist with a 30 m cable, and honestly, this thing made our job a hell of a lot easier.

One of the biggest reasons we grabbed it was the 2.2” hooks, they fit perfectly around our scaffold tubes, which made integrating it into our scaffold system super simple.

In this video, we put it to work lifting a 30” diameter garbage chute approximately 30 ft tall. Each 4 ft section weighs roughly 36 lb, putting the chute at around 270 lb total.

We hooked the hoist into our scaffold system, lifted the chute into position, and it handled the job beautifully.

Simple setup. Strong little unit. Huge labour saver.

We’re pretty damn happy with it.

Paul’s been with Hex Scaffolding for a good while now. He came to us as a first-year apprentice, put in the work, learned the trade, and now he’s well on his way to becoming a Journeyman Scaffolder.

It’s been pretty damn cool watching the progression.

More importantly, Paul’s a good friend, a good father, and one hell of a teammate. The kind of guy you’re happy to have beside you on a tough job.

And at about 6'4", he’s also extremely useful when the rest of the crew is 5'7" and under 😂 Sometimes we don’t even need another lift… we just need Paul.

This build is for a pool that seems to be under construction and repairs for way to long. This temporary roof systems is to keep the trades working in all weather conditions.

**Before & After 👏**

After 6 months of harsh winds reaching 65+ km/h funneling between the two high-rises in downtown Kelowna, the original shrink-wrap had taken a beating. That constant wind exposure eventually wears the material down.

A fresh installation was completed by Dyck’s Mobile Shrink-Wrap, using 10-mil shrink-wrap and a professional installation built to handle another 6+ months of exposure.

This temporary roof scaffold has over 5,000 sq. ft. of shrink-wrap, with the replacement valued at approximately $10,000.

Great work by Dyck’s getting this cleaned up and looking top-tier again. 👏
