PASSIONS! It can be challenging to have passion for both dahlias and your work. This past week I was in Whistler at the annual conference for the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA). I had the honour of serving as President this past year and have served on the board for 8 years. This important commitment coupled with my job as a CAO of a County in Ontario keeps me very busy. The annual conference is always the last week of May which coincides with dahlia planting time. Needless to say, I have been later planting my dahlias than I would like. Thankfully they are growing nicely in the greenhouse! This weekend will be two solid days of planting!

I know I am not alone in this balancing act with our passions….
