Border Garden Restoration & Redesign
Work was done in late Spring after the Spring bulbs & flowers had finished blooming, and before the summer flowering perennials came into bloom.
This way, plants can be moved without causing them to shock, and the work is out of the way and done in time to enjoy the new design as the garden comes into bloom over the summer.

Photo 1: 'The Money Shot'. Completed garden restoration & redesign. Ready now for a trip to the garden centre to pick out some new plants to fill the spaces. (deck view).
Photo 2: Before- Garden was due for a remodel, some de-weeding, and a couple of transplants. Otherwise, the established foundation plants were left in place and the new design was built around existing plants to change it from a high maintenance English Garden, into a low maintenance Rock Garden.
Photo 3: During- Garden bed cleaned of weeds and unwanted plants, relocated a few perennials, and soil was replenished and regraded.
Photo 4: After- The tedious task of installing landscape fabric around existing plants will now keep the weeds at bay and prevent the new wood & stone mulch from migrating into the soil over the seasons.
Job complete, and ready to just sit back and enjoy watching it evolve over the summer and for years to come.
*Ample space between existing plants to pick up a few new plants that catch the eye while at the garden centre!

Woodland/Scree ~ Before, During, and After.
1. Before: Over-planted, overgrown with weeds, and unattended; this garden needed an overhaul.
2. During: Removed & potted-up 'keeper' plants, dug-out all weeds & root systems while tilling & amending old soil down to 2 ft below grade.
3. After: Created a terraced woodland style show garden with a dry waterfall.
*As the plants mature, this garden will grow into itself and provide a low-maintenance show garden with 4 seasons of interest.
4. Spring season- Daffodils in bloom. (Crocus & Hyacinths not shown)
