The PDS and UPLAND team was in Sydney yesterday for the launch of the catalogue of pre-approved housing solutions we've been working on for CBRM! Lovely to see some coverage of the event.

Cape Breton Regional Municipality says 15 plans ranging in size from a backyard suite to a six-unit townhouse are available to residents free and are pre-approved under the building code to speed up the permitting process.

We were so grateful to be able to receive this award alongside so many of the project team members who made the project happen. Beyond that, we were able to share it with many of the people who made it possible with their foundational work.

Thank you to Grant Wanzel and Jim Graham for joining MMAI, and with the Affordable Housing Association of Nova Scotia to accept the Award of Excellence for Housing Solutions at the 2025 Halifax Urban Design Awards.

Spring Growth at PDS!

PDS has grown! What was once an office of 3 or 4 working remotely is now a team of 11 committed employees, 8 of whom share ownership of the company. We're proud of the company we've built together and in response to this growth, we have reorganized our office to best support our team, our colleagues, our clients, and our projects.

We are celebrating Architect Molly Merriman's new role as Director at Passive Design and Mike Anderson's new role as Production Manager overseeing our many exciting multi-family projects and our transition to Revit as our standard BIM software. Naryn Davar-Timbre remains Business Director in his new role as CEO. Founding Partner and Engineer Natalie Leonard continues in her mentorship and consultancy on our many multi-family and affordable housing projects.

Lastly, we welcome several new team members including Architect with the NLAA, Emily Campbell who relocated to Nova Scotia last year, our new operations support manager, Alia Yassin-Saied, and our newest Architectural Technologist, Marie-Claire LeBlanc.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to grow our company through meaningful and fulfilling work. The PDS team is a dynamic group of like-minded, values-oriented individuals and we are excited about the impact we can have when we all work together towards common goals.

We wanted to take a moment to share these important and exciting changes with our community and to acknowledge all the people at PDS that make the work possible!
