Not all kelp harvesting practices are the same.
Instead of cutting living kelp beds from the seafloor, we exclusively use storm-tossed kelp; nature’s gift washed right onto our shores.
Storm-tossed kelp is kelp that washes ashore naturally after strong coastal winds and wave surges. As kelp matures, ocean swells detach it from the seabed, allowing it to drift onto the beach naturally; no cutting, no disruption, and no damage to living marine ecosystems.

Where to find it: Storm-tossed kelp can be found along the beach, particularly after a strong ocean storm or during low tides
What it looks like: Thick, golden-brown ruffled fronds that appear rubbery
How it helps the ecosystem: By exclusively collecting storm-tossed kelp, we leave underwater kelp forests intact to shelter marine life, protect against coastal erosion, and sequester carbon.
