Night hikes with the boys are always full of discovery. We had just been drawing and the boys kept wanting to draw crystal caves. We found a “crystal cave” in our forest, an old stump that had been dug out by an animal and frozen drips of resin sparkled in the light. Was pretty magical to see their stoke level and experience this moment through their eyes. 🌎

Nature’s creativity is beyond compare.
Believe it or not, this is a moth, a sheep in wolf’s clothing. Through mimicry, it poses as a wasp, warding off would-be predators with a clever disguise. Armed not with sting, but with illusion. Mimicry as shield. Performance as survival. A dance of deception few would dare to challenge.

We humans often see ourselves as rulers of the Earth, yet we are but one thread in the vast tapestry of life. A young species, behaving like reckless adolescents, Wild with ego, blazing trails, breaking things, and rarely pausing to consider the consequences. Tumbling through the world like children, unaware of the weight of our steps.

Perhaps one day, we’ll grow into our potential, not as masters, but as stewards. Only then might we truly earn the title we’ve given ourselves: Homo sapiens—the Wise Wise Ones.

But such wisdom demands transformation. We’ll need nothing short of a revolution of consciousness and spirit. A letting go of the old story, the broken culture, and the illusion of separation. The unraveling of a culture grown deaf to the songs of soil and sky.
To make space for something more beautiful, an existence rooted in connection, humility, and kinship with this living Earth we’re lucky enough to call home.

A life rooted in reverence, in remembering that Eden was never lost.
It is here, waiting for us to notice. 🌎

The magic of Nature. These little Anise Swallowtail caterpillars are among my kids favourite things to witness every year. We raise them in a butterfly enclosure and get to see the whole process. It helps them experience the magic of the natural life stories that happen all around us.

Sagebrush Mariposa Lily (Calochortus macrocarpa) one of our most beautiful wildflowers! Excited to have our first bloom in our dry hillside garden! Notoriously difficult to propagate from seed, I had one germinate several years ago, forgetting that I had planted it. This year is the first year it has bloomed!
