Celebrating 4 years of Bonin’s Plumbing!

It’s crazy how fast time flies. I’m no longer feeling like the new kid on the block. Things are starting to feel “established” so to speak. I know 4 years isn’t a long time compared to a lot of other guys who have been around 20+ years, but with the connections I’ve made with my community I feel like some day that could be me too. Who knows!

Thank you so very much to every one of my loyal customers for your support, recommendations and kindness. I will continue to do the best I can for you every time.

As time goes on and the more my customers and I get to know eachother on a personal level, my wife is often brought up in conversation. A lot of time the question is asked “Does your wife care that you work so much?”. Truth be told, I know I don’t make things easy for her. “One last service call” often makes me late for events, or time has to be sacrificed elsewhere. It can’t be easy to share your husband with the whole community. But she see’s what I’m doing and knows what I’m trying to build. I simply could not, and would not do this without her support and understanding. Thank you Sara for continuing to be amazing. I love you ❤️.

On this rainy Sunday we will celebrate with cake and relax before Monday rolls around and the journey to year 5 begins!

I genuinely hope everyone has a great Victoria Day long weekend!

Everyone except the guy who decided to use a $2 plastic fitting to connect this well 5 feet underground (that of course failed) , I hope you have a rotten weekend. Dick head.

Out with the old, in with the new! A quick little shower control upgrade.

This old 2 handle relic rejected repair parts, so it had to go.

Damaged well caps not only look terrible on your property, but they open your well water up to risks of contamination. Bacteria’s and diseases from insects, rodents, bird droppings and surface run off can all be introduced to your well water without you even noticing.

This spring while you’re out doing yard work, be sure to check yours!

I always replace broken plastic caps with long lasting cast iron or aluminum products.

When’s the last time you replaced your anode rod in your water heater?

Have you EVER changed the anode rod in your water heater?

The anode rod is very important when it comes to getting maximum life out of your electric water heater. It uses an electrochemical process to attract harsh minerals and ions in your water that would otherwise cause the tank to rust out. They should be inspected every couple of years and replaced when they deteriorate.

To eliminate the need to do this multiple times over the water heaters lifespan, or just the need to remember one more chore, I like to recommend powered anode rods. They offer corrosion protection as well as the capabilities to neutralize the sulfur smell that is common with electric water heaters. Only replace it the once and transfer it to a new tank when it’s time.

It may be something you can mention to me at your next service! 😎

It’s been an absolutely wild start to spring around here.

I don’t often get involved with “big jobs”. I mainly stay on the small service, maintenance and repair work. But every now and then, the bigger projects come my way.

From March 9th to April 12th (and counting) saw many early mornings, late nights and weekends. Only 1 day off in this time from (Easter Monday).

Things started with a full heating system repipe. Insurance companies are still giving people grief over Kitec piping in their homes, so even all these years after the class action lawsuit ended in 2020 im still taking out that trash and probably will be for years to come.

After that I rolled into setting up a warehouse to operate as a facility that creates food packaging. It was fun to see many different machines that produce different food containers you see in the stores. My job was to provide cooling lines from chilled water units for these machines, as well as safety hand washing / eye wash sinks, washer & dryer hook ups and overall general plumbing maintenance to make the place operable for a large staff.

Along with all this I managed to squeeze in a cistern installation, and handle many small emergency service calls and some well pump changes and try to keep other ongoing projects on schedule.

Things are starting to level back out to my “normal” pace. But the last 3 weeks have been nothing short of challenging. It was a good, fun challenge but I’m ready to be away from “big jobs” for a little bit.

Here’s a small sample of photos of what I’ve been up to!

One minute im repairing a toilet.

The next minute im restoring water to a house.

Before I know it im in a warehouse 40 feet in the air running a water line to a piece of equipment that im not even sure what its called or what it even does.

All in the same day. Never a dull moment. 💪
