This antique oak pedestal table ended up taking a little more work than planned.

Originally I tried a whitewashed finish on the top, but it covered too much of the beautiful ray fleck in the quarter-sawn (Tiger) oak. I decided to remove it and refinish the surface again so the natural grain could remain the main feature.

The result is a warm, character-filled table that keeps the beauty of the original oak while fitting comfortably into a modern home.

Evergreen Fog by Sherwin-Williams is such a versatile color. It is soft, neutral, and just enough green to add character without feeling too bold. We paired it with a natural wood top stained in Early American, gold hardware, and kept the inside wood warm and clean for extra storage. The cedar lining is gorgeous!

This piece is already sold, but we do offer custom refinishing if you have a dresser, cabinet, or vintage piece that could use a new look.

A few weeks ago, I picked up this mid century modern dresser from Alan. It had a lot of sentimental value, but over time it had seen better days. The original pulls were missing, the top drawer slide was loose, and there were plenty of dents and wear.

After refinishing, I sent Alan a photo to show how it turned out… and he ended up taking it back home. 😊

I really enjoy projects like this, not just restoring the piece, but helping to keep the story behind it alive.

This dresser was finished in a soft green-blue (Watery by Sherwin-Williams) with refreshed hardware and a smooth, durable finish.
